Women at Howard Symposium
From March 16th to 23rd , the Center for Women, Gender and Global Leadership organized a symposium where posters created as part of the Women at Howard Reports were displayed. The Women at Howard University Research Reports were commissioned in the summer of 2021. The research project documents the historical development of women faculty at Howard University to date. Fourteen chapters have been written by graduate students and will be published as part of the Center's working papers and later in peer-reviewed journals or an edited book. On March 16th, eight of the fourteen researchers had the opportunity to present their papers in front of an audience consisting of undergraduate and a few graduate students. Pictures were taken, and the video of the symposium will be upcoming.
The posters were displayed in the Louis Stokes Library’s Gallery Room and were available for public viewing every day from the March 16th to 23rd during working hours. The Center for Women, Gender and Global Leadership in grateful for all who attended the symposium and stopped by the Gallery Room to contemplate the posters. The Center encourages students to be on the lookout for information regarding the opportunity to write a report on some of the colleges that have not been covered yet.
